What happens when we look beyond what is immediately visible? Removing the Mask is an educational and outreach event created to open conversations around experiences that can remain hidden, misunderstood or difficult to discuss.

Taking place during Black History Month, the event offers a keyhole view into aspects of life experienced by people of colour in the UK, while welcoming people from all backgrounds. Through presentations, guest speakers, panel discussions, reflective activities, poetry, music and personal stories, we will explore themes including identity, trauma, resilience, relationships, culture, compassion and empowerment. This is not simply about listening.

It is about learning, questioning and reflecting. We encourage participants to look beyond what is immediately visible, ask questions, recognise patterns, reflect on their own experiences and consider what possibilities or support may be appropriate for them.
